Helloooooooo!!! Welcome to my home! Grab a chair, make yourself comfortable, I’m going to do a speed intro for you.
I’m Yemi Morrison, I live in Lagos, Nigeria. I graduated from Covenant University with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I work in IT Support at a Bank. I previously worked as the manager of a luxury beauty company for over 2 years, but I actually started out in customer service.
I’m a multi passionate person. I have owned a fashion business, taught people how to grow their natural hair, participated in movie groups....and when people ask: “What kinda music do you like?” I don’t know what to say because I like EVERYTHING. Someday, I am going to write a novel.
I built my first website when I was 18, I’ve built everything from a hair blog, food blogs and a christian lifestyle website. I have been playing with tech for over 10 years, but I only discovered the world of online business in 2018.
I had a fashion business that flopped, and I had started hosting in-person workshops to teach people about fashion. That’s when I realized that I loved teaching.
I wanted to get more students, but the major problem was distance, my store was very far and people didn’t want to travel 3 hours just to come and learn from me.
So I thought: “I should create an online course” I’d be able to reach people anywhere in the world, teach millions of people how to sew and I could make a lot of money!
And so I started researching. Reading blog posts, watching youtube videos, signing up for webinars and masterclasses like my life depended on it.
Then I launched my first online course. Priced it at $30 (N10,000) and I got 0 sales.
It was heartbreaking. I wanted to give up, but I couldn’t because I really wanted to run a business that operates on autopilot, from any location. I also wanted to help millions of people.
Fast Forward to August 2019, I decided to put some money on it. I paid a coach to teach me how to launch an online business. It took a while because even though her methods made sense, it was still a bit manual, so I tweaked it and built an automated system in its place. By December 9th 2019, I launched again and 30 days later, I had over 3,000 subscribers on my email list, I had my first 10 students enrolled and by March 31st, get this - 124 students enrolled in my online course. Insane! I had to pause the system because I couldn’t handle any more students. It was crazy.
So I started to think. Why did this work? Why don’t more people get results like this? I have an unfair advantage, Iike I said, I’ve been in this space for about 10 years so I know a little something about tech. I decided to analyse every aspect of the system and really understand where people get it wrong, and what they need to do to fix it. And that’s what I want to share with you on this blog.
I enjoyed setting up the tech, and did it with ease, in a short amount of time, and without getting overwhelmed.
There are so many talented and amazing people out there who can't start or scale their businesses because they are intimidated by tech.
I recently spoke to someone who teaches how to use poetry as a self care tool, which is such a beautiful work, but when it came to take his business online, he gave up because of the tech.
So I've made it my life's work to help passionate and creative entrepreneurs who are struggling with software & other tech tools learn how to build stunning websites that convert without getting overwhelmed, so they can stop trading time for money, focus on the aspects of the business that they really love, and impact millions of lives.
